Festival della Scienza

This call aims to receive proposals about exhibition, workshops, talks, shows or special events that could be part of the 2015 Genoa Science Festival programme.

Anyone can take part in this call for proposals and the submission is completely free.
The 2015th edition of the Genoa Science Festival will be held in Genoa from october 22th to november 1st 2015. The keyword will be: equilibrium.

Artistic and interactive science exhibitions, workshops, talks, meetings, roundtable meetings, shows, artistic performances, special events: a wide range of proposals that you can submit and that we will evaluate trying offer to our audience an exhaustive and interesting programme, thanks to the cooperation with some of the most important national and international science institutions. Interactivity is one of our main aims, thanks to this the public can approach science and technology from a new, fun and effective perspective.

Like in its past editions, Science Festival aims at reaching the widest number possible of both people and institutions, at a national and international level, right from the beginning: the creation of programme contents.

This call for proposals is open to the following types of events:
• Talks: lectio magistralis, talks and roundtable meetings with internationally renown scientists, preferably speakers who have never taken part in previous editions of the Festival.
• Exhibitions: complete exhibitions or single exhibits with an educational, scientific, artistic and interactive approach.
• Workshops: events that have visitors as their protagonists, with experiments and other activities carried out with the help and guidance of science explainers
• Shows: theatre shows, concerts, dance shows, screenings, thematic series.
• Special events: open days, performances, demonstrations

Every project promoter can put forward no more than two proposals

Along with a tribute to 2015 key word, we encourage promoters to take inspiration form the following anniversaries and celebrations:
International year of light
European Industrial and Technical Heritage Year
European Year for Development
European Year for Development Cooperation
International Year of soils
Centenary of Einstein's Equations of General Relativity

All proposals will be evaluated by Festival della Scienza Scientific Council in cooperation with the Organisation Team.
Proposals will be included in the programme of Festival della Scienza 2015 at their discretion.
Proposals will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
• Interest of the topic and scientific contents;
• Accuracy and clarity of the submitted proposal;
• Display choices;
• Connection with the key word and with 2014 themes;
• Authoritativeness of the scientific responsible;
• Feasibility;
• Interactivity;
• Originality.

Acceptance does not cover the costs of the event, all subsequent modifications will be evaluated by the Scientific Council.

Communication of the acceptance of the proposal for Festival della Scienza 2015 will be given no sooner by the end of May 2015.
